This is the weblog of Lisa Damian, writer and book reviewer.  Lisa thrives on travel, loves to scuba dive, and is always planning her next adventure.  Her deep personal devotion to her family, her community, writing, education, and learning in all its many forms defines much of her personality and daily routine.

Lisa is the author of the nonfiction books Trout Valley, the Hertz Estate, and Curtiss Farm (Images of America), released in July 2008, Glee Totally Unofficial: The Ultimate Guide to the Smash-Hit High School Musical released in March 2010, and Share the Glee released in November 2013.  Lisa’s reviews, interviews, and news articles have been featured in the Boston Globe, the Seattle Post Intelligencer, McHenry County Living magazine, Blogcritics magazine, Studio Mothers, the Northwest Herald newspaper, Pioneer Press newspapers, the Orange Prize for Fiction website, and other media sources.  Writing fiction in her ‘spare’ time, Lisa has also arranged writing workshops and served as an editor on various projects.

In addition to living in L.A., Orange County, San Francisco, the Silicon Valley, Miami, Boston, Chicago, Guam, and Bucks County, PA, Lisa has also visited most states within the U.S. and many other countries.  With more than 15 years of experience in higher education administration, she has been employed by and performed consulting projects for colleges and universities across the United States.  She has served as President of the Florida Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and she’s enjoyed the honor of serving as a publicly elected Trustee for the village of Trout Valley, IL.

  6. I stumbled onto to your blog while searching Guam tagged blogs. Seems in the winter, I think more and more about our wonderful year living there (specifically all the gorgeous beaches!).     • That looks amazing! I’d love to explore and dive in the Philippines. Definitely on my list.

      I don’t think I have Filipino blood, but here in Guam, the ancestry is so mixed. I think my Damian side of the family is of Chamorro descent, but I wouldn’t be terribly surprised to discover at some point that perhaps one of my relatives came from the Philippines many generations back. It’s not something I can trace in the past several generations though.
