This is the weblog of Lisa Damian, writer and literary critic.  Lisa thrives on travel, loves to scuba dive, and still dances as if she’s on a go-go box stage.  Her deep personal devotion to her family, her community, writing, higher education, and learning in all its many forms defines much of her personality and daily routine.

Lisa is the author of the nonfiction book, Trout Valley, the Hertz Estate, and Curtiss Farm (Images of America), released in July 2008.  Lisa’s reviews, interviews, and news articles have been featured in Blogcritics magazine, the Boston Globe, McHenry County Living magazine, Creative Construction, the Northwest Herald newspaper, Pioneer Press newspapers, Go, Girl! magazine, the Orange Prize for Fiction website, Buy.com, and other media sources.  The Damian Daily made the Real Words list of 40 Inspiring Writing Blogs.  Writing fiction in her ’spare’ time, Lisa also arranges monthly writing workshops.

In addition to living in L.A., Orange County, San Francisco, the Silicon Valley, Miami, Boston, and Chicago, Lisa has also visited most states within the U.S. and many other countries.  With more than 15 years of experience in higher education administration, she has been employed by and performed consulting projects for colleges and universities across the United States.  She has served as President of the Florida Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and currently enjoys the honor of serving as a publicly elected Trustee for the village in which she resides.
